found k3 did that
de registerd it, factory reset , copied books ( tried 3 books) manual into document folder fom computer via usb,
while still linked to usb ejected kindle, checked books worked after restart and reset.
only the did i go to menu and look for update and resync
seem to work so slowly added a few more books this time via my archive
( still linked to computer as was unsure at this point)
everything seemed fine so removed usb cable
think mine got lost in an update loop.
still doesnt explain the keyboard playing up but at least i can read a book
