The only drawbacks I see from reading on the iPad mini is the weight of the unit versus the kobo, shorter battery life, and limited memory due to apps and the inability of adding extra memory. But aside from that its pure choice and opinion in how you choose to read. No one has the right to chastise you if you go whole hog on reading on the mini and there are obviously reasons why you wish to do so, one reason I can see is device elimination (one device to rule them all). And that IMHO is convenience that is important to not over look.
