Well, the ads for all of the major box stores are now out. Looks quite bleak for eink ereaders. Only two models on sale - Paperwhite 2 for $99 and the new Kindle Basic for $49. Three stores are selling them (Best Buy, Fred Meyer, and Staples).

On the tablet front, things are looking much better; with multiple models of Fires, iPads and Galaxy Tabs on sale. The best deals are on the base models (8-16 GB).

Media players are a dying breed and it keeps getting worse each year. Only one Sansa Clip is on sale, along with a Sony and two iPods. But there is a ray of sunshine - no-contract phones. These will make great audio players and the mid to high end models will handle video quite nicely. I've included quite a few of them and a separate post with key specs.

What's not included anywhere in this thread are the host of no-name, low-end Chinese devices. I didn't include them because of their low quality and inadequate specs.

Most of the major offers (tablets, ereaders, media players) are posted in the front page posts. I'm still working on the other related items and slowly populating the appropriate posts. It's a time consuming process severely handicapped by this forum's editing restrictions. Bear with me.

Cheers for now
