I prefer to use a large screen tablet (in my case, a nine-inch screen Nook HD+) for magazines, not only because of the formatting but also because most have color photos and illustrations.

I reserve my e-ink reader for reading regular b&w books and use the tablet for magazines, PDF docs, graphic novels, etc.
