That's exactly what I ended up doing, too. I'm learning -- however slowly -- that getting "fancy-schmancy" isn't worth all the effort that one puts in for it, and that even if what you end up doing isn't the ideal way of doing things, at least there's a certain level of reassurance that it'll just
work.
