Well, I have an interesting history with damaged ereaders - my Sony broke, spontaneously, overnight. My cheapo replacment, a cool-er, lasted and lasted well past the point that I wanted to replace it with a kindle, until I dropped it (and it really was an accident, not on purpose
). My Kindle Keyboard lasted years, and is in fact still going strong, but I decided to upgrade anyway and then I go and drop the new one!
