It's subjective I suppose. I have the Gecko Slimfit for the Kobo Aura6". I actually like the magnetic closure tab better than those ebay versions which are magnet-only. There's less chance of something sliding between front cover and screen when it's in my bag.
FWIW I don't find the corners/edges sharp at all. Maybe it depends how you hold it
