One tip when searching Amazon for Kindle covers/cases/sleeves is to search in the electronics department, not in the Kindle store. You'll find a much larger selection of less-expensive cases. From your description, it sounds like what you're looking for may be a sleeve rather than a case. I'd run separate searches for all three (covers, cases and sleeves) until you find the style you're looking for. Be sure to select ones that specifically say they fit the exact model of Kindle you have.

I've had great success with Moko, Omoton, Flintie, and ACcase. I never pay more than $10 to $15. These sellers, among others, have wide selections of styles and colors and a lot of positive reviews from other customers.
