Vera stood at the door to the precinct station. Harv, her partner in the Special Quantum Unit was, as usual, late. Looking at her watch again, she wondered what could be keeping him. given the nature of their police investigative unit, it could be just about anything. Finally, she spied him crossing the street in heavy traffic.

"About time you showed up! Who is that?"

"Vivaldi had the day off. Had to pick up his stand in. Meet Slite."

"Hey! How ya doin'?"
