While I can fully understand that one can't see anything wrong with the original, and then suddenly see a great color difference between the top and bottom when directly comparing them by copy/pasting a part of one into the other, I just can't accept that the eyedropper shows such a large difference between the original and copied parts.

An oft quoted image is this one (I also used it to illustrate this same point in the PW1 thread two years ago):
While the fields A and B look like they are miles apart, the one dark grey and the other light, the eyedropper will tell you that they are in fact the same color (#777777).
Therefore, after you said that you copy/pasted the part, I was expecting them to be exactly the same, despite what I was seeing, but obviously, they are actually different for whatever reason.
What you see is not what you get...

Look at the RGB values for pixel #1 and #2 and you will see that they are almost identical. I am sure that those two icons is copy/paste from top of the third screen.
