Yep, my PW2 is very evenly lit, so the yellow tone towards the top of the screen on the Voyage is not simply down to the lighting being at the bottom.

The only caveat to mention with Kobo is that yes the evenness of the light is something they have handled very well, but the standard Aura has other issues with the screen. In common with the PW & Voyage, it has a capacitive screen, whereas the Aura HD & H2O use infra red touch. So they are using different technologies and not strictly comparable.
