Getting it to Forget where , can be the hard(er) part.
I run a triple head monitor array with the viewer on the upper display (old 768x1024 LCD-in portrait orientation). Moving that monitor (in Windows settings) can result in the viewer no longer being 'On Screen'.

The trick is to temporarily disable that 'extend desktop..." in Windows, the start Calibre, and open a Viewer, (the viewer will open on a visible screen. Leave it) then Exit Calibre. You can re-enable the monitor.
The next time Calibre opens the viewer you can move it to its new desktop home
