OTOH, it did take a year till she was really comfortable with me, after I adopted her. Maybe she's had a hard life.
Anyway, leash is mandatory. Guess I could try a 50 foot one, or something!

We got Norton when he was only 3 months old. He took right to us. The only fear he ever exhibited was that for the first several years we had him, he was terrified of riding in cars. Makes me wonder what happened in those first 3 months. He's not aggressive with other dogs, either, but he does want to mount everyone he sees, regardless of gender, and some take offense to that. He doesn't exhibit the "I'm tough" small dog compensatory behavior, perhaps because his first pal was a gentle Pit Bull.
