I was getting them for every book, yes.

As for the 'broken pipe' errors, these occurred when I connected the device, and Calibre attempted to download the reading positions from the device.

Desperate to get books on my device, I first downgraded to Calibre 2.7.0, but that didn't change anything. I then checked the 'Attempt to Support Newer Firmware' option in the KoboTouchExtended plugin. After rebooting my Aura HD, it once again worked.

As to the status of the plugin, consider it as not under ACTIVE development. If there is a bug, someone will fix it. But, no-one is actively looking at adding function.
