This is a debate without conclusion (for example there is a poll on a page relating the study you speak of, and although the study concludes LCD and ereader make no difference per se, 78% people answered that they find ereaders more comfortable to read, even though untill now ereader resolution was much lower than on LCD screens.)

[For me, in order of eye strain:
Computer/tablet (20 min and my eyes burn) > Kindle Voyage (I feel some straining pretty fast) > Kindle paperwhite/kindle Touch/Kindle 4 (can read for a long time without trouble) > paper.]

But some people never experience eye strain with anything.

After thinking on it, what makes the Kindle 4 better for me, I think, is:
- the greyish background instead of yellowish on the Voyage
- the plastic screen: less glare/less defined reflections
- the different fonts. The Kindle 4 and Kindle Touch basic font is pretty much the same as the Paperwhite's, but on the Voyage they modified it, it's somewhat higher and thinner, and I really dislike it. To me it is less readable. Actually if not for that I would keep the Voyage without having to think about it.

Still, the Voyage's text is of course sharper and clearer; I really notice it when I compare it with the Paperwhite (I got one again yesterday, to give it a second chance, and compare it to the Voyage more, to decide which one I want to keep (if any). I feel crazy but I'd say the Voyage is too sharp for me, the fonts are not thick enough (helvetica would be, but the 4rd size is too small, and the 5th too big, ahah).

I really think this is individual; most people prefer the glass screen by far, and I think they are right because it's technically better.
The text being darker is a very good thing, too. In comparison the paperwhite seems almost blurry.

However, I would love to know what other people think of the modified fonts.
Yes I agree, eye strain is different for each person

I'm in the most sensitive minority,
for example I do experience much more eye strain on the kindle than on paper,
I don't know if it's because of the poorer contrast or because of the lower resolution,
but I can easily read for 5 hours straight on paper without any problem and I can't on a kindle,

of course the convenience of an ereader is unbeatable as we all know here,

for now I'm sticking to my kindle 4nt,
but I'm very interested in what people says about the new ereaders,
especially if they belong to the eye strain bunch like me ;-)
