For the UK readers, a couple of sfnal bargains that I searched and didn't find posted before (at least not in this thread). Linkage goes to Kobo, but likely price-matched in your favourite UK store, non-couponable:

For £0.99 from HarperCollins:
  • The Serpent Bride by the late Australian fantasy author Sara Douglass (ISFDB, Wikipedia), 1st in her Darkglass Mountain Trilogy of epic fantasy. She's also got some 1st-in-series novels at £1.99, so there's linkage for the lot.
  • The Iron King by the late Maurice Druon (Wikipedia), 1st in his Accursed Kings heptology of medieval French backstabbing historical novels (not actually fantasy), which George R. R. Martin† cites as a major influence on his A Song of Ice and Fire series, and for which we also have a discussion thread in the Reading Recs forum. There's apparently an money-saving omnibus edition slated to come out (one already exists for the original French version), but this is a really cheap introductory price to try out the first volume to see if you like the series enough to splurge on the lot.
† And speaking of GRRM, I did mention this briefly upthread, but I think it bears repeating, for £1.99 each @ Kobo UK, you can get both volumes of his Dreamsongs: A RRetrospective collection out from Orion's Gateway containing pretty much all his short stories up until 2003 (when the original Subterrranean Press edition came out). It happens to contain "The Hedge Knight", the 1st in his Dunk & Egg series of novellas which are prequels to A Game of Thrones, which you'd otherwise have to buy the anthology Legends for, or wait for the eventual collected edition they've been promising Real Soon Now for ages.

I checked Amazon UK yesterday and today, and they were still both at £5.99 each, and in US/Canada, the Random House omnibus edition has never dropped below $18.99, nor the individuals under $9.99, according to eReader IQ. So, approximately $7.50 CAD for the lot is a dirt cheap price which you might possibly want to take advantage of before someone decides it's a glitch.
