Agreed.

There is one exception to this, though: periodicals, like my subscription to Analog Science Fiction and Fact. They won't download to Kindle for PC, only to physical Kindles, Kindle for Android and (I think) Kindle for iOS. So if you want a copy you can treat like the above, you need a physical Kindle device registered to your account. I use my old DXG for it.
