I ended up loading the "Screen Dim" app to get the screen as dark as I like for reading in bed in the dark. I just noticed that Screen Dim is a free download today.
Reading in a fairly bright office was fine, no trouble with glare on the screen, although I see how there could be in some environments. I tried it with a matte screen protector but soon took it off, I didn't like the reduction in clarity.
I don't use a lot of apps or games, but the ones I use most showed up in the app store.
The only real problem I've run into is that it's not recognized by my XP laptop. I loaded WMP11, but XP still can't find the right MTP driver to use. I guess I'll just have to email the rest of my books to the KF.
I loaded 4gb of audible books, 1 gb of music, my current reading list, a few apps and games and there's already only 6 gb left free. They should make a 32gb version.

You can use Calibre Companion to transfer books via WiFi. You need Calibre of course but it's so easy to transfer books from each other with it. Another way is through a Cloud service like Dropbox or OneDrive using their app.
