The K4NT (Kindle 4 non Touch) was sharper. The Kindle Keyboard too. But they had no light.
Why do we have to go over this, over and over and over and over again ?

You want sharpness + no light = get the basic Kindle
You want good screen + light = get the PW
You want great sharpness + light = get the Voyage

You are still moaning ? get another device, a Kobo, a Pocketbook, a chinese one.

It is not as if Amazon was FORCING you into buying a Kindle, for heaven's sake !
