I fudge a lot of them. I hate the five star rating list because there is such a variance within things I rate as any amount of stars. I look at what I rated 4 stars and I can point out which were better fairly easily which tells me that the rating level isn't granular enough. I find 9 stars is much better at sorting out similarly enjoyed books which is what I want.
Again, ask me to rate a book and it will vary on almost every day. Especially on those waffly ones that are slightly better than most in the category, but not really as good as many in the next set.
