Hi RKomar,

You raise a good point that I have not thought about before, people have always commented on the accuracy of my vision. When reading the kindle previously I have attempted to play with my focus methods/distance from screen and lighting when but to no avail. However it could still be that the slight distortion caused by the matte finish affects me regardless of those changes.

My guess is that there isn't an e-reader with a shiny/gloss finish like the iPad as ereaders rely on the matte finish to avoid glare in strong lighting conditions. I have heard that some of the older sony prs devices were reasonably glossy however. Can you think of any other ereaders that were noticeably glossy in finish?

I am also trying to work out weather it would be possible to replace the front screen display cover in my kindle with tempered or gorilla glass. I know that people often replace the whole screen but I don't know how feasible it is to detach the front cover and attach a glass one.

I will be great full for any further input on these two issues.
