It shouldn't matter how the eject is done. If you do it from calibre, it does it's processing to remove the device from it's memory and then tells Windows to eject. Then Windows checks if it is safe to remove the device and will if it is. If it not safe, then Windows will not eject the device.

If you eject from Windows (doesn't matter how) and it is safe, the device will be ejected. After a few seconds calibre will detect this, and do the processing needed. If the device can't be ejected, you will get the "not safe to eject" message.

it just say:
The new features and changes in function are:
After ejecting the device from the PC, it starts up without disconnecting the cable.

Nowhere stands : After ejecting the device from the PC by Calibre, it starts up without disconnecting the cable.
In my case it doesn't matter if it is ejected from Calibre or Windows, it doesn't return to the original state (main menu) it just stay like it is still connected showing the picture of the reader connected to a laptop, saying: Connected and Charging, or Connected and Charged.
I have to pull the cable on 3 computers, out of it, after it was ejected.
Tried 3 cables, tried differend ports, tried on a hub, it just doesn't do like it should has to do from the changelist, not on Glo, not on Aura HD.
Calibre has nothing to do with it, it is not a feature of Calibre,it should be a feature of the firmware.
It should work, I don't know why it isn't for you. For me, it isn't immediate. I normally use calibre to do the eject but had gotten into the habit of checking the system tray to make sure it had been ejected before disconnecting. Now, it isn't unusual if it take 30 seconds for this to happen and another 30 seconds for the light on the Glo to turns on. Then a bit more before the processing screen or the home screen are displayed. Very occasionally, Windows shows it is disconnected but the device doesn't react. In those cases, I give it five minutes, unplug, wait for the device to do whatever and plug in again to check the database. So far, it hasn't been a problem.

I'm not sure what could be happening. One thing I would try is to connect the device, but run nothing. Wait until Windows tells you it is ready and then eject. That should tell you if calibre or some other application you are using to access the device is getting in the way. Another thing to check is that Windows is not using it for "ReadyBoost" or some other program isn't using it for backup or something else. Either of these could interfere with the eject.
