Possibly, but possibly not. If you have something in place, you tend to leave it in place. If you don't have a feature, you tend to not go out of your way to add in, especially if you have taken it away. Cost would be the deciding factor. It's not more expensive to leave the customizations in place, but rather more expensive to remove them - new programming, etc.
If Amazon did buy them, the QC and CS would be better - at least the CS.
Moot points all, since they'll not likely do it. When I emailed Amazon about the fonts I specifically mentioned Kobo and all their fonts and scalability.
