And having side-loaded an Amazon store app to Fire (because direct install is blocked), it will get updates from there (when the publisher updates it)? At least here's hoping.

Case in point: I side-loaded Mantano a couple of months ago on my Fire HD (and just now side-loaded it to my Fire HD6), but it hasn't been updated since May in the Appstore (which was in GP in Feb). So no ePub3 support. I'm used to some delay relative to GP, but this is getting to be more than annoying. Probably time to nag them again.
