It did make a difference on my Kindle Keyboard. Not that shaving a couple days off the weeks-long battery life of that device mattered much. But still, I just automatically turn off Wi-Fi on all my devices when I'm not specifically using it.

I have to turn it off on my Galaxy Tab or I risk finding a dead battery in the morning.
