Device: Kindle DX Graphite
Hacking a Kindle DX for pdfs etc.

Hi everyone, just acquired a Kindle DX graphite which I've been meaning to get for a while.

I find all the information regarding hacking a kindle dx rather daunting.

Basically I really want the kindle dx for pdf viewing usually of scanned books.

I have a few things I'd like to do.

1) Make the kindle dx a decent and fast pdf reader
2) Learn how scan books and/or then format PDFs so that the written pages use as much of the 9 inch screen as possible. (I have adobe acrobat pro)
3) Enable the kindle to skip to pages further in the pdf and perhaps bookmarks? (I discovered it actually does this already!)
4) Stop the page rotating when I move the kindle dx around (i.e. I don't want the gravity thing to activate).
5) De-junk any kindle software and make the device truly mine.

If anyone could give me some pointers I'd appreciate it!
