Question content server - possible bug

bringing this here from CC sub forum - although I discovered it when sending books to tablet, chaley confirms it's not really a CC issue.

the bug? is when i send a book to tablet that has no calibre tags, but has some original <dc:subject> tags.

this may be be quite rare as after finding one such book I had trouble finding another in my library that met that criteria.

so I forced a test case as follows:

I took a book with no calibre tags that has never been on my tablet.
using sigil I edited its content.opf and added <dc:subject>mytag</dc:subject>.
then saved the book, moved it via CC & content server, saw mytag in mantano reader app but not in CC
mantano displays the tags that it finds in the epub. it receives the epub from CC with gets it from calibre content server.
so content server is NOT removing the original tag(s) when there are no calibre tags that need to be substituted. IF there is one or more calibre tags then all is fine.

next question is: is that a bug or a feature. it does seem inconsistent with save to disc and with modify epub, as they do remove original opf tags, always.

It would be helpful if someone could reproduce this with less components e.g. just go PC to PC via content server.
