Call Amazon and say you want a note placed on your account stating if the issue is fixed, they are to send you a replacement at your request.
This way you can get piece of mind knowing you can get a "good" screen if/once they come, while getting to enjoy your device now. You also get to skip the part about being sent repeated kindles with more or less the same issue.
The truth is likely ALL kindle voyages have the gradient issue. It may get better, it may not. If you otherwise like your device (and I love mine), I think this is the best option for piece of mind.
