Cakes are wonderful. But I'm referring to REAL cakes. Not pseudo-cakes that just take the name and none of the yumminess. Real cakes like:

Victoria Sponge
Lemon Drizzle
Chocolate
Madeira
Coffee and Walnut
Devil's food
Battenburg

And now I'l have to bake one this weekend!
