I'm no expert but my guess would be the colour change across the screen would be down to colour variance between LEDs or whatever they use as a light source or some other hardware issue. So I dont think software would fix this.
Auto brightness - I'd suspect theres a better chance that that is software relates or could be fixed that way.
But all this is just a guess...
