Heck, no. The main reason I bought the large Nook HD+ was for him. The only time he's tried to use it was when he took it to the beach, and then he was trying to get something through the web, instead of the app, and whined because it didn't work.
He won't use a tablet.
He does like the Chromebook I got him.
Oh and we are six....my oldest son, 17, has no interest in a tablet. My other son, 14, has a 2012 Fire HD running n2a Kitkat, which he loves, and a Chromebook (not his, but he uses it daily). He probably doesn't need a Fire 6
