when Amazon added this "feature" it was the final straw for me+ kindle, & now Kobo are going the same way
ditto for any "beyond the book". I want reading to be a private, self contained, ad free experience, and I am still capable of deciding what to read next without some software butting in to offer suggestions.

I agree with this. I do not want an additional page showing when I finish a book. I just want to open the next book.
