However, have just checked my OS (Linux ) default app for .pdf files. In /usr/share/gnome/applications/defaults.list there's the line

application/pdf=evince.desktop;atril.desktop
which is consistent with what Nautilus says is the default for opening pdf files, and matches my experience when opening pdf files (including the Truecrypt user guide) from Nautilus!

So why does truecrypt choose to open its user guide with the Calibre internal e-reader?? Weird!
