Actually, all business negotiations are based on law, specifically, contract law, as constrained by other laws such as anti-trust laws and copyright laws.

And while I sympathize with their principles - the whole "knowledge wants to be free" thing, and the right to educate oneself, and the idea that culture can't be owned - their approach to their cause is childish and unrealistic.
