Hi- I'm new here, and trying to get help a few days ago, cross-posted this to a few threads since I wasnt sure where my problem lay- they got deleted, so now I have to try again- please let me know if you think posting this in a different thread would be more helpful. Thank you!
I have a kindle Fire, and use Calibre to convert books. The other day while trying to figure out how to get my covers to show up, I did what the manual suggeted and clicked "share book enabling", which makes what I convert show up as a document, rather than a book. It also has my name as the author rather than the author's name. I now manually have to enter the author's name each time I use "Send to kindle"- which I also updated a few days ago. Therin lies the problem. I don't know where the issue is
I have since unchecked the "enable book sharing", but the author name is still always wrong- it remembers the author of the last book I uploaded, and fills in the author name space with that. I've deleted those books and the metadata, but I can't figure out how to get it to auto-fill in correctly anymore.
Not a huge problem, but definitely a nuisance. I often send many books at a time, and instead of it being tedious, it is now frustrating. I have tried talking to the people at Amazon, but they answer with a "cow staring into oncoming headlights" response.
Should I get an old version of "send to kindle"? Is this a metadata issue? any idea?
Thank you
