At least in my experience, there is no truly spotless, flawless, perfectly even ereader-screen out there... feel free to prove me wrong, though.
Most of the issues I've seen seem to center around the frontlightling. So yes, I'd have to agree that I haven't seen an ereader with totally even side to side, top to bottom lighting. OTOH, most of the devices have what I would consider to be acceptable lighting, not perfect but not bad enough to interfere with my reading pleasure.

Other people may disagree but that is their right and they can vote with their wallets just as I do.
