Bargain @ $1.99 or $2.99 from Open Road Media in multiple stores (couponable @ Kobo):
LGBT History Month promotion, presumably good through October, with histories and biographies and personal memoirs and also fiction by LGBT authors and/or on LGBT issues. NB: it seems like not all the actually discounted stuff is shown on the dedicated "sale tab", so you might want to page through all of them to see if there's anything else which interests you. Also, some things like the Mary Renault novels are geo-restricted to the US.
US Politics promotion, which the blog says is good through October. Stuff on the campaign system, J. Edgar Hoover, the Kennedys, the McCarthy era, post-Watergate, and general leadership etc. Some of them seem to be really good titles, by Pulitzer Prize winners and National Book Awards honourees.
Sourcebooks (couponable @ Kobo) also has a few non-fiction sale titles marked down to $2.99, mostly marketing/business stuff (
linkage for all their stuff sorted by price). But I wanted to highlight this one:
Jennie: The Life of the American Beauty Who Became the Toast--and Scandal--of Two Continents, Ruled an Age and Raised a Son-Winston Churchill-Who Shaped History by the late Ralph G. Martin (
Wikipedia), originally out in 1969 and 1971 and now collected into a single volume.
Apparently this was a highly popular bestseller at the time, which garnered quoted blurb praise from Winston Churchill's official biographer, and for $2.99 less coupon, I figure it's a pretty good deal that I'm going to try, since I've always kind of liked "Lady Randy", who had a really interesting life from what I've read about it.
