I'm not sure if it would be usefull for everyone, but i think that when you manage large amount of ebooks, its hard to keep versions and new books updated; so it would be a great option if the program allows to compare the existent book in calibre with the new added and give the option to replace/discard.
It would have to be able to be deactivated becouse i guess most people dont want to check the books one by one.
