Another good series is Tom Deitz's David Sullivan series, written in the late 80's, early 90's. The seriers is also known as the Windmaster's Bane series, after the first book in it (Windmaster's Bane). The books have been hard to find since Deitz died back in 2007, but they are just now coming back as ebooks. The first two are already out.
