Just to try & clarify the misleading comment about the Sony... It too connects via USB and appears as an external drive to which you can copy files to, just like the others.
The two things that Harry could be referring to are
- The Sony software, which is Windows based and is (only) required if you want to purchase & download from the Sony eBookstore.
- The Adobe Digital Editions software, which requires a one-off registration of the Reader on Windows, which is required in order to read 'secured' Abobe content (ePub) on the device.
