Kobo doesn't believe in change logs or what's new files so your guess is as good as mine as to what has changed. If this popped up on the Kobo Desktop application, it would be an update to that application. Generally, a desktop application update is a good indication that Kobo has a firmware update coming soon. Looking at the Kobolabs Github page, it appears that changes to the H2O code were committed a couple of days ago however this is only the non-proprietary stuff.
