Using Calibre 2.5 and the command line (because the GUI is busy doing other things), I was able to convert your ePub to LRF using the defaults.

Code:

ebook-convert "A Girl of the Commune.epub" eBook.lrf

I have not tired the GUI as of yet.

Also using the command line, I was able to view the LRF in Calibre's ebook-viewer.

I am running Windows 7 32-bit and the processor in use meets the requirements for Windows 8.1.
