Thanks everyone for helping out. I manged to downgrade the software, Jail break it and put KOreader on it (KOreader on PW2 is tricky) and it runs like a charm now (but also cracked the screen in the process

). Amazon may ship me a replacement sometime soon so I am guessing I ll have to repeat the entire endeavour again.
