Seems to me that there may be a need for two versions, hi res and low res. The low res do not need giant files which will make it slow, nor the color either. Tablets and newer machines can benefit from these. I don't think one size fits all, especially if the screen is significantly larger. No reason to leave out pull quotes and inserts which are all but impossible on smaller devices and are more visually attractive.
But the bigger the screen the less sense there is in reflowable text anyway, since the text size can be made more or less normal, it seems to me.
