PocketBook Ultra, that I had an opportunity to test, has that kind of buttons.
The idea sounds great.
The reality is ... different. Almost impossible to use with a cover, unless said cover has huge holes in the back. Very difficult to use when holding the device in one hand. Believe me, I desperately wanted to like that feature ;-).
