You could point out that Project Gutenberg has thousands of e-books at least 100 years old.
I.E: Current with the magazines in the waiting room.
Nurse: "Have you been waiting long?"
Patient: "No, all these people came in before me."
Nurse: "What are you reading?"
Patient: "War and Peace"
