I wish Amazon took the flushed-screen idea to the next level and made the bezel part of the screen. The actual screen content will still remain in the 6"-diagonal portion in the middle, but if the bezel was the same color as the screen background, then they set the content to zero-margins and use the bezel as the margin. They would just need a larger piece of e-ink film, keep the existing back plane, and enlarge the front-light coverage to include more of the bezel.
Now I could imagine people contacting amazon to complain about the size of the new margins, thinking content could be displayed there.
