pwalker, you captured my thought process near perfectly. I have a similar method to mix in non fiction with fiction and to avoid over exposure to a series. If I read more than one book in a series in a row, I burn out. I need to mix a different book or even a different genre.. Without even realizing it, I was operating much as you but without realizing it.

The other thing I do is to switch from Kobo to Kindle and then back again. Alternating devices is also fun- whenever I return to a device I havent used for a few days or a week, it makes the reading seem fresh and new.
