I also prefer to buy online as you can send back the product eitherto replace it or get a full refund.
I've had some discussions with retailers that a product was fine or an imperfection/deviation from the technical specs was normal or 'within tolerance levels'.
No replacement unit, no refund. Only the offer to call the manufacturers service centre to make an appointment with a qualified technician.
If the technician considers the imperfection/defect 'within tolerance levels' you end up paying for the technical consult. Choosing this option is quite a gamble.
Therefore I prefer to buy online.
