I love the touch screen. I was worried that it would be awkward for me - when I read in bed I lie on my side and could handle the K4NT with one hand. So far I've had no problems. The touch screen is very responsive, but I have yet to accidentally change pages or anything.
Coming from the K4NT to this has been amazing in two short days. I adore not having to scroll down to a word to check the definition. Goodreads integration is wonderful. Everything seems faster and page turns are smoother. I haven't noticed ghosting yet, and have the page refresh off. The slightly larger size hasn't been a problem. The larger edge around the screen has been nice, for it gives a good resting spot for my thumb while reading, ditto for the larger area at the bottom. Also, the lack of buttons at the bottom is great, as my clumsy fingers would frequently bring up the menu or go home on my old one.
One thing I'm not crazy about is the back. It's a bit slippier than the matte, rubbery backing of the K4NT, so I've had to be a bit more careful. I keep my Kindles naked usually, but if this becomes a problem I may end up getting a cover.
I don't have a comparison with my K4NT (the buttons died and it's stuck on the home screen, hence my getting the new one. I'm not ashamed to admit that I cried.). Also, Amazon customer service was wonderful and offered me a discounted upgrade to a PW. They said the offer would stand for a while and I may take advantage closer to Christmas - My mother (bless her!) purchased this one for me before I could discuss purchasing the PW with my husband. Anyway, here's a photo of my new baby, taken just a few moments ago in ambient light with my phone.

You can clearly see in the histogram/levels/curves that the levels for contrast has been altered to enhance it. Shame on you for posting altered image.
